Javea
Javea has three very distinct areas set out in a sort of triangle – the old town, the port, and the Arenal (which is the sandy beach area). The reason it is spread like this is that the inhabitants of Javea actually had to move 2km inland sometime in the 9th century and build a wall around the town to protect it from the constant attack from pirates. Luckily, there have been no recent pirate attacks against the town and although the majority of the wall was demolished in the late 19th century some still stands as a testament to that time.
Moving to the Area
This beautiful town of Javea has many different faces. There are eateries, bars, social clubs, theatres, shops and a multitude of special interest groups from walking and photography to yoga and Salsa dancing for the adults. For the families, a school to suit every child, whether you are looking to place them in an international school or a local one, all with good reviews and good practises.
