Buses, Cars, Trains and Planes…. How to get around the Costa Blanca North

The most convenient and comfortable way to explore and get around the Costa Blanca North in Spain is to have a car. The road system in this area is excellent. We have a complete network of motorways (AP-7) and the national road (N-332), that link the Costa Blanca towns with the main cities, towns and coastline in Spain and in Europe.

Air Transport on the Costa Blanca North has available the international airport of El Altet, in Alicante. Serviced by numerous airlines such as Easy jet, Ryanair, to UK and Europe destinations.

There is also an airport at Valencia, again with daily flights to many European countries.

Alicante airport is around 1 hour drive to the towns of Moraira, Javea, Denia. Valencia is around 1.5 hours drive.

Trains run quite frequently between the towns of Denia and Alicante which takes a really pretty route along the coastline. A special train called the Lemon Express runs between the village of Gata and Benidorm, and is very popular with visitors or a fun day out.

RENFE, a large railway company in Spain has improved significantly over recent years and now offers a high speed train (AVE) to the towns of Valencia and Alicante. There are also very good rail links from Alicante to Barcelona. If you fancy the idea of a weekend trip why not consider Madrid, only 1.5 hours from Valencia via the high speed train.

There is a regular and well serviced network of public bus transport available connecting the towns and villages of the Costa Blanca North. Larger towns tend to have their own municipal transport but if you live in a village you may only have the option of 1 or 2 buses a day.
