Benitachell

Benitachell is a charming, traditional Spanish village with a dramatic coastline made up of impressive cliffs standing 100 metres high. Surrounded by areas of natural beauty including the Montgo Mountain to the North and the Sierra de Bernia to the South, which are great for walking, cycling or hiking.

Benitachell residents are in an ideal location. They can enjoy life in a peaceful haven while being only five minutes by car to the livelier coastal towns of Javea and Moraira. A perfect place to get away from it all and to enjoy a stroll along the narrow, historic streets to the market or try different snacks in the tapas bars.

Its location makes it ideal for people who want a quieter pace of life but to be near to the stunning coves and beaches in the North Costa Blanca area.

It is also just a few minutes’ drive to the lush, green countryside filled with vineyards or orchards full of trees bearing olives, oranges, lemons and grapefruits.

It is a great base for people wanting to sample traditional Spain, to find out more about its gastronomy, explore the countryside or practise water sports.

The inland town of Benitachell is just six kilometres from the wine making region of Teulada and a short drive inland to the Jalon valley, which has several bodegas or wine cellars producing quality but very inexpensive wines and cavas.

Benitachell is also just off the main N332 road linking the cities of Valencia and Alicante. Both cities have international airports used by many low-cost European airlines such as EasyJet and Ryanair. Alicante airport is about an hour by car while getting to Valencia airport takes around 1.5 hours.

Benitachell is ideal for sports lovers with four golf courses nearby - La Sella, Javea, Ifach and Don Cayo – as well as tennis, horse riding, cycling, walking or hiking on the doorstep. The many coves and bays to explore will captivate water sports enthusiasts.

Benitachell has a good range of supermarkets, shops and banks while Javea and Moraira hold weekly markets for fresh fruit and vegetables.

It is also home to Laude the Lady Elizabeth International junior school which follows the British education curriculum.

Benitachell is a little village with a population of about 5,700, of these 4,000 are non-Spanish. Most foreigners have settled in Benitachell from other European countries especially the UK which has about 2,300 of its residents living here.

Buying a property in Benitachell tends to be a bit less costly than in nearby Javea or Moraira with a mix of residential and holiday/second homes. A rural setting such as in Les Fonts offer you detached villas or if you prefer a mixture of apartments and townhouses with a communal swimming pool, these can be found in urbanisations such as El Alcazar.

Areas in the village of Benitachell to consider buying a property are as follows; Les Fonts, Vista Montana, El Alcazar, Golden Valley, Pueblo Alcasar.
